The people at Lenstalk are phenomenol. My lessons with Steve were incredibly varied, and each morning flew by. No matter which topic we covered, Steve always focused on my personal interests and consistently incorporated fascinating background knowledge about Chinese history, culture, and literature into the lessons, thereby encouraging and motivating me throughout my learning progress. Even when it came to homework, he was really creative, constantly coming up with new interactive exercises and inspiring me to explore the China beyond the classroom.

Managing everyday life in such a foreign country—especially when you are also navigating it as an “illiterate”—can certainly feel intimidating at first. But whether it was dealing with authorities, getting internet access, buying a SIM card, or booking train tickets, “problem-solver” Eddie took care of everything. He never lost his calm and always had an open ear whenever help was needed.

With people like them, traveling to China and learning becomes a real pleasure!
